Do your employees need training?
The State of New Jersey has designated community colleges as the preferred
provider for its customized training program that provides about $30 million
in grants each year to upgrade workers' skills.
The New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development
provides one-point access to all of the vast resources of the state's 19 community
colleges, including over 1,700 programs taught by highly qualified faculty with
business and industry experience. With 63 campuses statewide, there
is a community college facility within 20 to 25 minutes of where every citizen
lives or works in the state.
The Consortium has entered into an agreement with the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), the state’s premier bachelor and graduate technical university, to provide advanced training for Consortium clients.
Through the Consortium, companies can access, develop and receive workforce
education and training for their current and emerging employees. The Consortium
will also assist businesses with the development and submission of NJ customized
training grant applications.
The Consortium is unique in the United States. It was founded to provide coordinated statewide education and training to business and industry utilizing the vast resources of New Jersey’s community college network. Because it was founded as a partnership between the state’s community colleges, its service range is not limited by county boundaries. This unprecedented delivery coverage enables projects like the
Basic-Skills Workforce Training Program to achieve maximum positive impact.
