New Jersey Utilities Association Workforce Initiative
The New Jersey Utilities Association Workforce Initiative is a unique partnership between the Association, the Consortium and the the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development to address the critical workforce training needs of the incumbent and prospective employees of New Jersey’s utility companies.
The incumbent workforce training component provides critical training course specifically customized to the needs of NJ utilities and taught on-site at the utility facility or at any of the 63 community college campuses across the state.
Courses include:
- Time Management
- Team Building
- Problem Solving
- Customer Service
- Business Communications
- Mathmatics & Measurement
- Computer Skills
The training funded by the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development and is available now on a first come first serve basis at no cost to NJ utility companies.
The prospective employee training program was specifically designed to assist potential employees sought by the New Jersey utility companies to prepare for the required company job entrance exam. Potential employees, selected and referred by the utility and local WIB, enter an intensive 112 hour workplace literacy training program organized through the local community college.
Funded by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the training includes:

- Computer Skills
